Controller accessories

Controller accessories and ECL application keys

The functionality of electronic controllers is fully exploited only with the right accessories. From specialised application keys that give the unit its "brains", to I/O expansion and controller communication modules - these components ensure smooth system integration, remote monitoring and efficient control of heat substations and HVAC systems.

Danfoss application keys (ECL Application keys)

Every Danfoss ECL controller requires a specific ECL Application key, which defines the type and logic of the system it controls. A2xx series keys are universal and suit the ECL 210, 296 and 310 models, while the A3xx series is intended only for the more advanced ECL 296 and 310 controllers.

  • A214: control of ventilation and AHUs (air handling units).
  • A217: extended domestic hot water (DHW) preparation.
  • A230: for systems that require both heating and cooling.
  • A266: classic heat substation (independent heating + DHW).
  • A333: extended heat substation with several circuits and DHW (ECL 310 only).
  • A368: extended control of several heating circuits (ECL 310 only).

Remote control and monitoring

More complex systems require smart control and BMS integration accessories:

  • ECA 30: remote control panel with a display and an integrated room temperature sensor.
  • ECA 31: remote panel with a display, a temperature sensor and an additional humidity (RH) measuring sensor.
  • ECA 32: internal I/O expansion module. It is installed directly into the ECL 310 controller base and adds extra relays and inputs/outputs required for A3xx series application keys.
  • ECA 35: ECL Portal "LinkGATE" controller communication module for remote monitoring and control via the "ECL Portal" or "Leanheat Monitor" platforms.
  • ECA 71: LON communication module for integrating the ECL 310 into building management systems over a LON network.

Ouman accessories

Specialised communication and monitoring solutions are also offered for Ouman controllers:

  • Oulink: an internet module for convenient connection of controllers to the cloud and the local network.
  • EH-net: communication accessories for integrating older-generation Ouman systems.
  • SMS modems: devices that send alarms and allow basic control by SMS messages when there is no internet access.

Other accessories

In our range you will also find other installation and network components that ensure safe and tidy assembly of an automation panel. This includes Modbus RS485 interface elements, RJ45 cables and connectors, panel mounting frames and special DIN-rail brackets needed for stable fixing of components.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Is an ECL application key always required for a controller, and what about software updates?

Yes, Danfoss ECL series controllers do not function without an application key - this element defines the entire system algorithm. When replacing or updating a key, it is important to ensure that the controller's base software (firmware) is compatible with the latest key version. Updates can be performed using Danfoss software tools.

How does the ECA 30 panel differ from the ECA 32 module?

They are devices with completely different purposes. The ECA 30 is an external remote room panel with a display, allowing the user to change settings from another room and measure its temperature. The ECA 32, on the other hand, is an internal I/O expansion module without a display - it is installed directly into the ECL 310 base to provide additional physical inputs/outputs and relays for controlling larger systems.
