Where B130 is used

B130 is the mid-power model for private pools 25–40 m³ (typical 4 × 8 m surface, 1.2–1.5 m depth). Suitable for seasonal outdoor pools with covers, indoor SPA / villa complex pools, and small commercial systems (hotel SPA zones, sports clubs). The stainless steel shell-and-tube construction operates in high-flow regime with low pressure loss — well matched to heat pump + pool loops sharing a single pump.

Pool heat-up time — quick calculation

Exchanger capacity: P = Q × ΔT × 1.163 (kW). Pool heat-up time: τ = V × ρ × Cp × ΔT / P.

Example: 40 m³ pool, +5 °C rise, with B130 at ~38 kW (source 70–80 °C) → E = 40,000 × 4.186 × 5 = 837 MJ ≈ 232 kWh; τ ≈ 232 / 38 ≈ 6.1 h. In practice, plan for surface losses (~150–300 W/m² without cover).

Designer note: B130 is designed for chlorinated pool water. For salt-electrolysis pools — use Hexonic TI350 (titanium, similar capacity range). Recommended flows: pool water 12 m³/h, heat source 3 m³/h. A flow switch right before the exchanger on the pool loop is mandatory — otherwise the boiler may overheat under low-flow conditions.

Frequently asked questions

B45 or B130 — how to choose?

B45 — up to 15 m³ pools, B130 — 25–40 m³. For 15–25 m³ pools, B70 fits in between (10–40 kW). B130 advantage: larger heat exchange area (0.2 vs 0.1 m²), larger pool-water connection (G1½" vs G1"), so lower pressure loss at high flow.

Suitable for salt-electrolysis pools?

No. B130 shell and tubes are stainless steel — salt electrolysis (~5 g/l NaCl) causes stress corrosion cracking. For salt pools, choose the Hexonic TI series (titanium equivalent TI350) or REV series in titanium version.

What flow rates are required?

Per catalog — pool water 12 m³/h (Δp ~15 kPa), heat source 3 m³/h (Δp ~4 kPa). In practice, harmonized with existing pump and filter capacity.

Compatible with a geothermal heat pump loop?

Yes. At 50 °C ground-water output, B130 delivers ~18 kW — suited to maintenance mode. For fast heat-up either raise source T or step up to B180 (larger heat exchange area).

What maintenance is required?

Welded construction without gaskets — no sealing maintenance. Once per season — CIP flushing if Δp increases. For winter — drain the pool side (freezing bursts corrugated tubes).
