Ouman VD215-1.6 fits low-flow control points: an individual apartment with 5–15 kW radiator heating, a small AHU with a water coil, or a DHW primary branch with limited capacity. Used in substations, zonal control assemblies in building hydraulics and floor-heating mixing groups. Interfaces with Ouman A203 / C203 / EH-105 controllers via M31A150 (heating actuator) or M31C150 (heating actuator with spring-return). Delivery across the EU.

Valve flow follows the standard formula: Q = Kvs × √Δp (Q — m³/h, Δp — bar across the valve).
Example: at Δp = 0.5 bar (50 kPa) — Q = 1.6 × √0.5 ≈ 1.13 m³/h. In heating mode (ΔT = 20 °C, cp = 4.18 kJ/kg·K) this corresponds to approximately P ≈ 26 kW.
At Δp = 1.0 bar (100 kPa) — Q = 1.6 m³/h → P ≈ 37 kW (ΔT = 20 °C).
A control valve should carry no less than 25–50 % of the total system pressure drop (valve authority a = Δpvalve / Δpsystem). If the design Δp across the valve is below 20 kPa, the valve will control coarsely (low authority). Verify the hydraulic schematic before choosing DN. Kvs 1.6 suits small systems; for larger loads use VD220, VD225 or VD232.

Standard Ouman heating actuators: M31A150 (3-point, 150 N, no spring-return) or M31C150 (spring-return on power loss). For DHW — M41A15. Third-party alternatives: Belimo NV24, Siemens SAS/SAT, Honeywell M6410 range, provided force ≥ 150 N and stroke = 15 mm.
VD215-1.6 is not certified as a potable-water valve (DZR brass contains a small amount of lead). In DHW schematics the valve sits on the primary (heating) side, so it does not directly contact potable water. For direct potable-water applications choose WRAS/DVGW-certified valves.
Class IV per EN 60534-4 — leakage in the closed position ≤ 0.01 % Kvs (i.e. ≤ 0.00016 m³/h at 1 bar Δp). Suitable for standard DHW and heating applications where minor leakage is acceptable.
Only DN and Kvs differ: VD215 — DN 15 / Kvs 1.6; VD220 — DN 20 / Kvs 2.5 or 4.0; VD225 — DN 25 / Kvs 6.3; VD232 — DN 32 / Kvs 10. Construction, materials and compatible actuators are identical. Select by required design flow and valve authority.
