Ouman VD232-10 is the largest threaded VD-series variant. Used on: primary valves in 150–250 kW multi-family substations, main control point in commercial or administrative building heating groups, main valve in gas or biomass boiler rooms, DHW primary branches for hotels and schools with higher demand. Formula: Q = Kvs × √Δp (Q — m³/h, Δp — bar).

Example: at Δp = 0.25 bar — Q = 5.0 m³/h → P ≈ 116 kW (ΔT = 20 °C). At Δp = 0.5 bar — Q ≈ 7.07 m³/h → P ≈ 164 kW. At Δp = 1.0 bar — Q = 10 m³/h → P ≈ 232 kW.

Designer note

VD232-10 is the largest threaded VD variant. Higher capacity (> 250 kW) points require a flanged DN 40+ valve (Danfoss VF/VFS or Siemens VVF). When the network Δp fluctuates and flow stabilisation is required, a PICV (Belimo Energy Valve, IMI TA-COMPACT-P, Danfoss AB-QM) is the better choice.

FAQ

When is DN 32 enough, and when do I need a flanged DN 40+ valve?

DN 32 with Kvs 10 handles up to ~250 kW (Δp = 1 bar, ΔT = 20 °C). Above 250 kW — or pipe velocity above 2 m/s — step up to flanged valves (Danfoss VF DN 40/50, Siemens VVF52/54, Belimo H6…).

Is it suitable for a PN 25 system?

No. VD232-10 is rated PN 16. Systems with working pressure above 16 bar require flanged PN 25 valves (Danfoss VF25 or Siemens VVF PN 25).

Is it used together with PICV?

No. VD232-10 is a classical seat control valve — it needs a separate differential pressure controller or balancing valve when network Δp is variable. When integrated Δp stabilisation is required, choose a PICV (Belimo Energy Valve, IMI TA-COMPACT-P, Danfoss AB-QM).

What is the leakage class?

Class IV per EN 60534-4 — closed-position leakage ≤ 0.01 % Kvs.
