Have questions?
TL;DR: Flamco T-Plus DN25 — cast iron rapid installation tee, clamped onto a DN25 (Ø 33.7 mm) steel pipe to form an Rp 3/4" branch. Designed for apartment supply branches and small manifold feeds without stopping system operation.
  • Application: DN20 branch on a DN25 steel pipe
  • Pipe outer Ø: 33.7 mm (1")
  • Branch connection: Rp 3/4" (female thread, DN20)
  • Nominal pressure / T: PN 25 / +120 °C

Where T-Plus DN25 is used

DN25 is typically chosen for apartment heating branches in multi-family buildings and for feeding small underfloor heating manifolds. When a DN25 main riser needs to be tapped into — for example, to install a separate metering unit (energy meter) for an apartment or to connect an additional underfloor heating loop — the T-Plus allows this without shutting down the whole riser.

The 16 Nm tightening torque is achievable with a standard torque wrench. The joint withstands classic district heating pressure and temperature, so it works on both flow and return lines. Installation time about 5-7 minutes, no drain-down and refill cycle.

Designer note: for metering unit installation on a DN25 riser, the T-Plus allows fitting an additional shut-off valve and meter without shutting down the whole riser — important when tenant consent to riser shutdown is difficult to organise in apartment buildings. Make sure the Rp 3/4" branch has a small-mesh strainer and ball valve installed upstream of the meter — otherwise the meter warranty may be void.

When to choose T-Plus DN25

  • Apartment heating branch on a DN25 riser in multi-family buildings
  • Individual metering unit (energy meter) installation without riser shutdown
  • Small underfloor heating manifold feed branching
  • Compatibility: steel pipes per DIN EN 10255 M/H, DIN EN 10216, DIN EN 10217 with wall thickness ≤ 2.0 mm

Frequently asked questions

Is a special tool required for T-Plus installation?

No. A torque wrench (16 Nm) and free access to the pipe (~150 mm around the clamp point) is enough. No drilling, welding or threading equipment needed — the cutting element pierces the pipe as the bolts are tightened.

Can it be used with an energy meter (metering unit)?

Yes. The T-Plus DN25 is commonly used for apartment metering unit installation — the Rp 3/4" branch allows a ball valve, strainer and DN20 or DN15 heat meter to be connected downstream. Confirm meter inlet/outlet sizes with the meter supplier before installation.

How to prepare the pipe before installation?

The pipe surface at the clamp point must be clean (no paint, rust scale or insulation). Verify the wall thickness ≤ 2.0 mm. Thicker walls (heavy-series steel pipes) are not compatible with T-Plus.

Can it be used in chilled water (chiller) systems?

Yes, the manufacturer confirms cooling system use. For long-term operation with condensation forming — make sure the housing and clamp point are insulated from ambient air to prevent local corrosion.
