LR24A-SR fits Belimo characterized ball valves (CCV) series: R2..-S2 (DN15-25 sizes), R2..-S4 (6-way), R3..-S2 (3-way), plus other Belimo ball control valves with compatible stem coupling. 5 Nm torque covers CCV valves up to DN25 with Kvs up to ~10 m³/h.

Designer note: actuator torque must match valve requirement. LR24A-SR (5 Nm) suits small systems up to DN25. For larger valves (DN32+) choose TR-24A (10 Nm) or SR24A (16-40 Nm) series. Insufficient torque means the valve may stick within months as deposits build on the ball.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between LR24A-SR and LR24A?

LR24A — 3-point (on/off, open/close) control — suits simple zone valve control. LR24A-SR — 0-10V or 2-10V modulating (proportional) control — suits PID regulation with accurate valve positioning. Torque, dimensions, supply are identical.

Is a separate feedback wire required?

The 0-10V feedback output is independent. It is optional for basic PID control but useful for: (1) BMS to log valve position, (2) diagnostics (detect mechanical binding when command and feedback diverge).

What about safety features?

LR24A-SR does not have a spring-return safety function — on power loss the valve stays in its last position. If the system requires an automatic safe position (e.g. safety close functions), choose LF24A-SR (with spring) or LR24A-SR + UPS.

Can it be used outdoors?

IP54 allows operation in dust and splashing water, but not under direct rain. For outdoor installations choose IP66 versions or fit the actuator in a protective enclosure. Ambient -30 °C — suits Lithuanian winter conditions, but electrical heating may be required for continuous -20 °C and below operation.
